Yorkshire is hosting Le Grand Depart this weekend and the second stage sets off from York on Sunday. The route begins near the racecourse at the Knavesmire, and then winds it way into the city centre, past York’s castle Clifford’s Tower, through the main shopping streets and right by the Minster. From there the route winds right next to York’s Art Gallery and Bootham Bar. So the entry steps to the walls at the Bar would be a great place to position yourself! However, that might be a little uncomfortable if you are waiting for a few hours – so why not choose the cafe in the gallery instead? There are seats outside and you can stand to watch when the race itself goes past.
Whist you are in York for Le Grand Depart, make sure you check out all the other great things the city has to offer!
