Description

Michelle Dawes
Michelle Dawes has been in the education sector for over 23 years, as a lecturer, as Head of Quality and Professional Development, and as the Director for Higher Education at Shrewsbury College. Her passion has always been supporting others to achieve their potential. She has always maintained very close links to the Award in Education & Training and its predecessors as she believes that, even as a manager, it is important to keep one foot in the classroom. In her career she has taught and nurtured countless students on the programme, and seen them develop from wide-eyed naive teachers or trainers into fully seasoned professionals.

Jane Owen
Having decided to change career and move into teaching over 20 years ago, Jane completed an earlier version of the Award in Education & Training before progressing on to a PGCE. As an enthusiastic teacher of 16–19 year olds and adults at Shrewsbury College, she still remembers the lessons learnt on that first course. Jane’s career has progressed into a leadership role, creating and delivering training and professional development to support teaching practice. As a teacher and lead internal verifier for AET courses, Jane takes pride in developing those early teaching skills and supporting fledgling lessons. Over the years of supporting learners on the AET it has been her privilege to be part of their journey into a fulfilling teaching and training career.
